Uther was waiting for all of the knights in training to appear, he had several members of his council with him to keep tabs on the arrivals. The knights stood in one section, the knights in training in another. The King strode back and forth, keeping a keen eye on his son all the while.
It was a simple test, each knight in training would face off against one of the King's knights and even if they didn't win the along would judge whether they were ready based on performance, and they amount of time they managed to hold the more experienced swordsman off. Room had been set up for the nobles to watch, as many of their sons would be fighting today or because like her father, the King requested that they be there. Much to her fathers surprise Guinevere had joined him. She sat beside him now either surveying the groups of knights with intense concentration, or fiddling with her dress. Leodegrance had long ago given up on trying to predict either of his daughters actions but he highly doubted Guinevere was interested in any of the knights or wanted to flirt. She was, in fact, slouching down in her seat now, looking somewhat bored and picking at the edges of her sleeves. ![]() |

Ector, too, had showed up, as both of his sons were present, foster and biological. He hoped they weren't made to face each other; that would only end in disaster.
Arthur spotted Guinevere among the spectators and briefly wondered what she was doing here; most of the women but those with beaux, brothers, or sons among the knights and knights to-be hadn't shown. ![]() |

Seeing as knights could only be of noble blood, the family crest of the knight in training would be drawn at random along with the experienced knight. The two would then face off. Uther opened with a little speech, detailing the values and characteristics of a good knight. After this the testing could begin.
Guinevere couldn't really pin down her reason for joining her father. It had been something of a spontaneous decision. Although part of her knew that she wanted to support her friend, the other half argued that her decision to attend had nothing to do with Arthur's presence. ![]() |
