"Just a few likeminded people," Star said, guessing Rose's thoughts. "And Damien should be along soon; he's always late."

"Easy; any book that's not written by a dumb blonde should be fine," Arkady said with a grin. "Tho it seems by your reaction that it would only be too little, too late. For one thing, we're not undead; that's zombies. Typical of humans to judge living by their standards. Of course, I thought like that back when I was a human, but I've had decades to come round to a more structured way of thinking."

"Long time no see," Axel smiled tightly, closing the door behind him.

"A few? I only see one..." Rose murmured.

"I'm not a dumb blonde!" Angel said, stomping her foot for emphasis. "You don't know sh*t about me! Besides, I'm a plant specialist; why would I care about blood-suckers, anyways?"

[Miranda_]

"I left a message earlier, but we'll have to wait and see," Star replied. She looked annoyed, but it was at her grandson for still not being here. "Hello, Axel. We need to talk about something; and I think you can guess what it is."

"You obviously do, or you wouldn't be doing experiments on vampires, would you?" Arkady said. "Or based on them anyway; no self respecting vampire is going to let you do anything on them."

"I think I can," Axel agreed. "It's thrown the inner workings into complete chaos."

Rose giggled. "Maybe tease him with the knowledge that you have a younger girl close to his age over; he doesn't have to know what I look like, intimidating and tall as I am."

Angel screamed in rage and shoved Arkady up against a wall. Her pretty face was twisted into a snarl, her cheeks flamed red by the passion of her anger. Upon glancing at her grey-green eyes, the phrase 'if looks could kill' would come to mind.

[Miranda_]

"I left him a message just now; I said that if he didn't come over right away, I'd send you to fetch him. He said he was just coming." To Axel, Star said, "We have to work towards stopping this, before Russia declares war on America. It's this recent assassination that's been bugging me. For one thing, I don't believe for a second that it was an American who did the killing; they would have stuck out like a sore thumb in Moscow."

Arkady just looked at Angel. "Take your hands off me," he said, evenly. "I hope you realise that I'm exerting a great deal of restraint right now to stop me from snapping your neck like a dry twig."

"Whoever it is they knew who they wanted and they didn't wait around. However all of the assasinations have been performed differently the only common theme being the flags..." Axel replied.

Now, Dark Star coulnd't possibly know that rose was incredibly nosey, but anyone who knew Rose well anough would not be surprised when she said, "Wait, stopping what?"

Angel's snarl faded, but the intense looked remained as she stared hard enough at Arkady to practically burn a hole in his soul. Then, suddenly, angel latched onto the Russian vampire and kissed him l'ustfully.

Star sighed; she wasn't up to a long explanation. "Axel, could you explain this to Rose?"

Arkady was surprised, but readily returned the kiss. He had hated Angel for a long time; however, hate and love were really quite similar.
