Star sighed. "It's a long story," she said. "You see, I created a son in the lab, and in time, that son met someone and they had a child. Damien stays with me, as his parents like to travel."

"Fine," Arkady said, looking pointedly at his watch. "I can spare you ten minutes. Time is money, remember."

"Oh, okay. Well, I'll let you do you phone call, then," Rose said as she dried off the first batch of test tubes.

"First, we go back to my lab," Angel said. She lead him back to her lab, hips swinging as she walked; Angel always seeed to walk as if on a runway.

[Miranda_]

Star went to make her phone call. She couldn't get thru to Axel, so she left him a message asking him to come to the lab urgently.

Arkady followed Angel to her lab, wondering what was so important that she'd fight down her obvious dislike of him. He didn't think much of Angel either, save that she was easy on the eye.

Rose was over halfway finished cleaning out the test tubes whenStar finished her message. "Anything you'd like me to start on immediately after this?" Rose asked.

Angel also noted that Arkady was attractive, but they hted each other so there was no point in acknowledging his appearances.

When they got back to the lab, Angel explained to Arkady that she was working on a serum that made vampires have to 'feed' less often, but she had no test subjects. She explained that, even if it didn't work as planned, it would not harm him in any way; he's just end up having to feed like normal. "...so, since you're the only vampire 'round here I have nay real access to, I want to know if you'll be the first totry the serum." angel concluded.

Axel got the message as soon as he stepped out of the meeting. He picked up his things from the office and left the building immediatly. It was evident from the language Dark Star had used that he should get there as quickly as possible. He sent her a quick text to tell her he was on his way.

[Miranda_]

"I have some notes that need putting in order," Star replied. Her phone beeped, and she checked the message. "We will be having a visitor shortly in any case."

Arkady looked scornfully at Angel. "Not a chance in hell," he said. "It's not a chore to have to feed, as you put it; blood isn't just food, but power. Find yourself another guinea pig."

Axel arrived pretty soon after. He hesitated as he decided between knocking and walking straight in, in the end he knocked. You could never tell what was going on inside a scientists lab, and he didn't exactly want to walk in on a grounbreaking experiment.

"Oh, okay, just show me- gues the visitor's here," Rose said.

"Jesus, no need to be an @ss about it. Who shoved a pole up your ar.sehole?" Angel snarled.

"That will be him," Star said. She went to answer the door.

"Someone mad cuz they didn't do their research?" Arkady replied in a mocking tone. "You don't seem to know a lot about vampires. Maybe you ought to do some reading."

Rose wondered who else Star had called.

"Well, how can I learn about you undead freaks when I have no access? How would I even know which books -if any- are truthful?" Angel snarled.
