[Miranda_]

"Depends what's there; it had better not just be health food," Diego said. He was starving.

[Silent_Wolf]

Fern's jaw dropped open slightly. "Are you kidding me? If they started giving us health food, I'd rebel. So would Dad and Batty."

[Miranda_]

"They do at the hostel, that's why I'm asking," Diego said. "Something about government rules."

[Silent_Wolf]

Fern shuddered. "Good god, if they started doing that to us... blech. Come on, let's get some grub." She walked up the hall that Batty had gone through.

[Miranda_]

"Well, this place isn't under government rules, is it? Otherwise, you'd all be acting like the hostel people." Diego followed Fern.

[Silent_Wolf]

"Technically speaking, yes, we are. By most definitions of the word, we don't exist." Fern looked at him. "So you're Diego?"

[Miranda_]

"That's right. This girl Tamsin got me to come and sign up here," Diego replied.

[Silent_Wolf]

"Gotta love her." Fern smiled. "What is it that you can do then?" She opened the door to the kitchen and walked inside with the four new recruits. The kitchen was mostly empty except for a large red man standing at the stove with a massive pile of pancakes building up on a tray next to him. She just stared at him blankly. "...ignore him, he's hungry."

[Miranda_]

"I don't know what you'd call my power," Diego replied. "But I call it hexing. I can make the impossible happen. But if I do it too much, it gives me a migraine. It's a bore."

[Silent_Wolf]

"Sounds neat though if you factor out the headache deal."
