In fact, it was Laura's healing power that had cured her of the virus, just as Bishop had said. In order to do so, powerful antibodies had been created to fight the virus, which contained the blueprints for a universal cure. If such a cure was created, then the plague would be no more in a short space of time.

Meanwhile, Bishop took the opportunity of returning to the future. This time, it was not how he'd left it. Now, the future had changed. Forge's lab was still intact, tho there was a big difference. Louise looked much happier, and had her arm round her boyf Lance. Both worked with Forge, who was working for Magneto, who led the forces. For in this new future, it was an ongoing war of humans vs mutants, but it was still a huge improvement on the old future.

"You could say that," Bishop said. He then told Forge all about the plague, and how he had gone back in time to change the future.
"I obviously succeeded; the future is different to how it is before," he said, finishing the explanation. "Perhaps you could bring me up to date?" Louise came over with Lance. "We're fighting the humans," she said. "Magneto directs us; at the moment, we have a stalemate cuz the humans withdrew from the battlefield when they were losing. They often do that. We have spies out and about to inform us when the humans start the fight again."
