Paul was about to go to Rahne's aid when the Brotherhood took off. He went to where she was anyway, and helped her up.

Paul winced. "Come with me," he said. "Jean's dealing out first aid to everyone who was hurt. Well, cept for Laura; she's healing up by herself."

Paul helped Rahne to her feet.

Jean soon gave Rahne first aid, so that she'd be able to travel with them.

"I'm sure that the Brotherhood will attack again," she said.

"Bound to," Laura commented. "The fact that they attacked us at all seems to prove that Mystique's behind the assassination."

"Maybe we ought to tell them that if they continue with this," Paul added, "They'll all end up dead apart from Louise."

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Vaughn was very, very glum.

Bishop eyed Vaughn suspiciously; he and Wolverine were playing cards with the young X-teen.

"Don't know why I'm bothering playing cards with an assassin."
