Scott turned and caught sight of Omega Red, and his eyes widened in horror. So the Russian weapon had made an appearance after all.

Jean didn't notice Omega Red til it was too late, and she was caught in one of his tentacles.

"JEAN!" Scott yelled, tossing the soldier closest to him aside. Without thinking of the consequences he made a dash for Omega Red, launching himself at the villain.

Omega Red just laughed. He threw Jean aside carelessly, and struck out at Scott with his tentacles.

Paul shouted to Storm, who was nearest, "Can't you do something?"

"I can distract him," Storm called back, "but that would be very, very temporary."

"At least get him away from Scott," Paul shouted back.

He was too busy fighting to go to Scott's aid himself; it would be a while before he could extricate himself and by then it would be too late.

Storm nodded, flying up into the air. Her eyes glazed over as the winds began to whip even more furiously than before, circling around Omega Red.

From her position near the civilians, Darkstar narrowed her eyes in contemplation.
