Kitty phased through the gates, reamaining unnoticed by those working at the compounds. When inside she looked around quickly for the lever, button or control that would open the gates, so she could let the others in.

She found it just before the guards inside noticed her, and the gates crashed open, creating an entry for the X-men. Scott fired an optic blast at the closest of the guards inside, effectively knocking them out of action.

"Everyone in."

Vaughn froze quite a few of them by touch.

Piotr was reluctant to act, but when one of the guards aimed a gun at Rahne, his body went from human skin to metallic, and he stepped in front of her. The bullets bounced harmlessly off his mercurial-looking skin though the force of the blows did make him stagger, a little.

Paul changed shape into first a lion, then a rhino to take out several guards. He was too busy fighting to watch out for trouble.

Omega Red had learned of the disturbance at the holding place; he had gotten over there as soon as he could. Illyana had been left outside the building for safety; however, she wasn't safe from him. With a grin of pure malevolence, Omega Red carried the girl into the compound, wrapped in a tentacle.

"Surrender at once," he said. "Or this one dies."

Piotr gasped, and the metal seemed to melt away from his skin. "Please, no, don't harm her!" he begged in Russian.

"Wait," Darkstar protested, looking on in horror as Omega Red grabbed Illyana. "Not the little girl."

Scott's eyes widened as he looked on as well. "Everyone stop," he commanded at once, seeing no other option.

Paul froze in horror too, as did Jean. There was a stalemate as all activity stopped.

Omega Red ignored Darkstar. He didn't care about what age his victims were, all he cared about was furthering his cause. He began to drain Illyana's life force.

Rahne whined and her tail sank.

Piotr fell to his knees. "Please- no- I'll do anything!"

Vaughn went sheet white.

"Stop it," Kitty commanded, which probably wasn't the smartest idea. "We did what you asked."

Omega Red just laughed at her. "What can any of you do to stop me?" he said, mockingly.

"You are all weak and powerless against me. If I chose, I could kill the lot of you. None of you can hope to stand against me."

A figure leapt out from behind Omega Red, viciously slashing at him from behind.

'Put the kid down," Wolverine's voice demanded.
