"Yeah, if it's really urgent," Paul added, "We could go with you now, along with some friends of ours and we could leave a message for everyone who's not here now to come along later. I don't know what we could do to help, but we could do something."

Kitty observed the strange scene play out from one of the large windows libing the foremost living room of the mansion. She frowned, until now she'd managed to hold herself back, not wanting to run out and cause any trouble. But now her curiosity got the better of her. Ignoring the well suited 'curiosity killed the cat' phrase, she leapt from where she was perched on the back of a couch and landed neatly on the floor.
"Hey Vaughn," she called out, "I think we should go check out what's going on outside." Without waiting for him to appear, she sped off, out the front door and onto the lawn. "What's up?" she asked, coming to a stop next to Rahne and Paul. ![]() |

"This guy wants some help," Paul replied.
To the stranger, he said, "I never told you who we were. I'm Paul, and this is Rahne, and Kitty. I think Vaughn's around somewhere, and Scott and Jean, too. We'll need them to come too, cuz Scott knows how to fly the Blackbird." ![]() |

Vaughn soon followed, and his toothpaste-colored hair made the giant blink twice before he continued. "Please, do not take this the wrong way, but I would like to avoid involving minors if I can; it is very dangerous," he said.
"But could you at least tell us what's going on?" Rahne asked. "That, I suppose I can do." ![]() |

"We can go first, and leave a note for the others to follow later," Paul said.
"But if we let you go back alone, if it is urgent, it could be dire. Tell us what it's all about, and we'll tell you what we're going to do. We might be teens, but we're all fairly powerful." ![]() |

"Alright. There is a group, a group that wants to revive the U.S.S.R. They're destroyed my home, my family, and will destroy man more. They are ruthless, and heartless, and must be stopped," he said. "My name is Piotr Rasputin, by the way."
"I can see why," Rahne murmured, eyeing his height. ![]() |

"That sounds bad," Paul said, thinking about the news report he and Rahne had seen at the TV shop.
"We had better go and see what we can do to help. Vaughn, could you go and find Scott and Jean? We need Scott to fly the jet, and he won't go without Jean." Paul turned back to Colossus. "Anything else we should know?" ![]() |
