The afternoon had finished under Storm's careful watch, and the teens were given an hour or two of R and R before they ate. "I'm going to head out to visit my sister for an hour or two," she told Scott, trusting he would pass on the message if it was required. "Can you keep an eye on them?"
"Sure," Scott nodded, he was used to being charged with 'keeping an eye' on the X-Kids, which was sometimes a difficult job but also one he had graduallybecome better at. "Jean's around too," he added, knowing Jean had a way with most people. "Good then," Storm smiled, and collected her bag, "I won't be too long." the front door clicked shut behind her and Scott grinned. Although Storm was usually punctual she seemed to lose all sense of time when she went out visiting family. He supposed it was because she didn't have a chance to see them all that often, not with all the work she did at the Mansion. ~ ~ ~ Wolverine, meanwhile, managed to find Laura who had given a bit of time to get ahold of her bearings. "Hey, Bub," he greeted her, "you know, I was thinking if you weren't too busy you might like to take a spin on my bike." This was an unusual invitation from Logan, who was exceptionally careful when it came to his bike, not letting most people within a three meter radius of it. However, he felt he had a fair bit in common with Laura, and the poor kid obviously needed a break. She'd been bred to be a living weapon after all, a trained assassin at the age of fourteen. ![]() |

Laura was beginning to feel settled at the mansion. She'd been given a room, which she was to share with one of the younger mutants, a girl called Amara who had been the decoy back when the X-men had infiltrated the shuttle station. Amara had wisely given Laura plenty of space to settle in.
She had seen motorbikes during her journey and had felt drawn to them; Laura would have liked to ride one, and feel the freedom and rush. Now she accepted Wolverine's invitation quite happily. ![]() |

With that organized, Wolverine headed out and they had quickly both boarded his bike. Laura got a helmet, and Logan went without. He had rode long enough to go without. Besides, if anything happened he would heal pretty much instantly. He didn't bother telling Scott where they were going, like Storm. He was pretty sure that Scott, being as tight as he was, would want him to stick around.

At that moment, a man towering above all other at 6' 7" appeared. His shoulders were broad, his hips relatively slim, and his muscles toned and intimidating. He had high cheekbones, and a solid, square jaw, a proud nose, thin lips, and dark brown eyes. His mousy-brown hair was cropped way short, and he wore a black jacket and simple light blue jeans.
He stood alone outside the mansion, his expression grim, with his arms folded across his chest. Eventually, he figured, someone would notice him... ![]() |
