Emma was still with the team, she had kept up her act for several reasons. Firstly, if something went wrong than it would be best to still have someone working from within the X-Men, and so far Emma had done this fairly successfully. Secondly, she found it rather amusing to watch them all dash blindly into danger, and was making the most of the show. And thirdly, she still had her eye on Scott, although a relationship between them would never really work out.
Wolverine and Storm were both with them as well. Wolverine, outraged to say the least, had insisted on coming, and no one had been brave enough to disagree. Storm, who viewed the students as extended family, was equally angry, and although hers was a more quiet sort of anger, she was a force to be reckoned with. Fortunately she managed to keep a cool head, and outwardly remained admirably calm given the circumstances. Scott was anything but calm, and understandably so. Jean meant the world to him, and he was determined to take down anyone who stood in the team's way. He gave off such a vibe that Kitty was a little worried he would gladly be killed himself during the rescue. She made a mental note to keep an eye on him in case something along those lines looked to happen. ![]() |

Paul was detailed to go and spy out how the land lay. The house was guarded so he bypassed the guards and flew up on the roof as a bird. Inside the room, he could see Jean wearing a new dress with a long cloak, and her hair styled differently. She was standing next to Wingarde, and surrounded by the other members of the Circle.
"Welcome to the Circle, our new queen, the Phoenix Jean Grey," Wingarde, said, raising a glass. The other Circle members raised theirs, and drank. Jean smiled, and drank from her own glass. Paul flew back down to the other X-men, changed to his normal form and told them all he had seen and heard. ![]() |

"Impossible," Kitty breathed, her eyes widening and her expression one evident of complete surprise. She hated the thought of Jean betraying the team, and was determined not to believe it.
"It isn't Jean," Scott said decisively, "she wouldn't betray us, she knows what their like, what sort of things they do...Jean isn't like that." "Oh?" Emma asked, not able to help herself, "circumstances would suggest otherwise, would they not?" This earned her a fierce glare from Kitty, and a firm look from Storm, who didn't want Scott's mental state compromised by pure cattiness on Emma's part. ![]() |

Scott nodded in reply to Rogue's suggestion, that made sense, and at the moment he was willing to believe anything that meant Jean wasn't directly responsible for what was happening. Emma, on the other hand, simply rolled her eyes.
Kitty grinned. "I can get past the guards, easy," she suggested. "I mean, they're not exactly going to be able to catch me or anything, right?" "I wouldn't bet on it, bub," Wolverine said, joining in the conversation for the first time. "These guys are you're average run-of-the-mill bouncers, they're going to have a bit more experience." ![]() |

Wolverine grinned an ever so slightly maniacal grin. "Let's go get 'em."
"One moment," Storm frowned, taking a handle on the situation before Logan sent it spiraling out of control. "First we need a clear plan that everyone understands," she shot her fellow teacher a firm glance, "rushing in like maniacs is hardly going to work." Wolverine opened his mouth to protest but Ororo silenced him with an even firmer look. "Like I said, I can get past the guards, easy," Kitty piped up. ![]() |
