"Storm gave us the morning off training," Kitty shrugged, "and she managed to convince Logan to give us the afternoon off too, so you've got all day to recover."

"I should be better by then." Jean wandered out of the breakfast room, but instead of going upstairs, walked towards the front door of the mansion. She walked as tho in a dream, making her way towards the headquarters of the Inner Circle...

Jason Wyngarde was sending her images of the two of them together, alone on the ship from her earlier visions in the candlelight, sharing a romantic inner. These he placed in her mind almost like tender memories.

One of the newer recruits, Tabitha, happened to see Jean enter the building. She didn't think anything of it, but headed back to the mansion. She just happened to mention it as she went thru the door.

Rogue was aghast. "You saw Jean walking along like a sleepwalker," she said, disbelievingly, "And going into a strange building, and you didn't even try and stop her?!"

"What could I do, pull her back physically?" Tabitha asked, feeling ganged up on. She'd recently gotten sick of this place and its rules and was thinking about testing the waters at the Brotherhood house. Now would be a good time to do it, seeing as they didn't even appreciate the fact that she'd told them about Jean.

Rogue just rolled her eyes and ran off to find the other X-men and tell them about Jean. She just knew there was something up with that girl; this could not be a good thing.

Tabitha had joined after Louise had left, so she had no inkling of what awaited her when she knocked on the door of the Brotherhood house. Louise was there with Lance, enjoying the fact that they were by themselves for a change. Pietro was out on a date, and who knew where Toad and Blob were. They were out of the house, and that was the main thing.

Lance had intended to spend the day... 'romantically'... with Louise, and wasn't too happy to have his plans shattered.

[Miranda_]

Louise was equally annoyed. "If that's Toad, I'm going to wring his neck," she growled, and marched to the door.

When she saw Tabitha standing there, she leaned against the door frame. "Hello?" she said in a bored tone. "Was there anything you wanted?"

Tabitha was taken aback to see Louise there; she had thought that the Brotherhood house was only populated by males.

Lance had his arms crossed over his chest; he was annoyed by the wat this girl was just staring at Louise in shock.. "Hmmm? Well? Cat got your tongue?"

[Miranda_]

Tabitha collected herself; she recognised Lance from school, and Louise, too. She'd seen them hanging out together; she just hadn't realised that Louise was staying at the house.

"Maybe I wanted to join your group," she said, defiantly. "Maybe now, I won't bother."

"Maybe you shouldn't," Louise replied, mimicking Tabitha. "You're one of those X losers; you're not welcome here."

"Don't bother; I'm going anyway," Tabitha replied, angrily. She walked away from the house, flipping one of her explosive balls over her shoulder. Louise reacted almost instantly, enclosing it in bone, then throwing it back. Tabitha ducked just in time as it exploded.

Lance sneered and made the ground beneath Tabitha tremble slightly, mostly to unbalance her; he wasn't in to hurting girls... but humiliating a brat? Definitely within his moral limits.

Tabitha almost lost her footing, clutching at the fence in time. She glared at Louise and Lance.

"Wouldn't want to share a house with you losers anyway," she muttered as she left.

Louise smiled. "That got rid of her. I'm certainly not about to allow anyone like her to move in and act like they own the place. I've seen the way she acts at school; she thinks she's really it."
