Lilandra was very emotional about leaving. She told Professor X that the connection would always remain, so that they could always keep in touch.

Charles smiled at her and even took her hand. "Then we'll stay in touch, of course; we'll meet psychically."

Feeling a little daring, and double-checking with his mind to make sure there was no one else around, Charles lightly kissed Lilandra's hand, "Until then, my lady."

Lilandra eventually tore herself away and climbed into her star cruiser, which was parked outside the mansion. Soon it had taken off; eventually, it had disappeared into the sky.

Charles had stayed out to watch until it was gone, then he sighed and went back inside.

It was still hard for everyone, but life must go on. The X-men were slowly starting to get back to normal, and part of that was attending school.

Scott sighed as he pulled up out the front of the school. He'd gotten so used to Jean sitting beside him, the silence bothered him but the noise the radio emitted was nothing compared to what their conversation had been. He clicked the door shut and locked it, hoping that something, anything, would take his mind of her.

Kitty, apart from the fact it meant more exams, essays and quizzes, wasn't too downhearted about the move back to school. It gave her something to do, and she hoped it would be good for the others as well. After all, they all needed things to take their mind of what had happened, and if surprise tests could do that, well, she was open to anything.

Louise was there with Lance, and the rest of the Brotherhood. They had had a few clashes with a new anti mutant group known as the Friends of Humanity, but they didn't take it seriously. After all, they had Mystique to back them up.

Lance, of course, took it least seriously of all; just what could a bunch of protesting, powerless human do, anyways?
