Rogue nodded and followed Wolverine and the others to the Blackbird.
Jean went with Rahne on foot towards the clinic; she felt it would be less obtrusive for them to do this. "We'll go straight in," Jean said to Rahne. "We need to find Dr Adler straight away and talk to him about this cure of his." ![]() |

Wolverine briefed his students on their way. "The only way we can do this is one on one, we need to stop all of them at once and they won't sit back and wait for us to take them out individually. I'll take one, Scott'll take one, Rogue'll take one, Kitty and Vaughn you can wither take one out together or one of you can help us all out."

Rogue nodded with determination. "I'm ready."
Jean replied to Rahne, "Maybe some aggression will work in the beginning; I doubt that Dr Adler will want to answer our questions, so you might have to restrain him first." They had arrived at the clinic; it was deserted. Jean entered first and found nothing to show where the good doctor may be hiding, til she accidentally brushed against a projection at the back of the clinic and a door opened; the door to the secret lab. Inside, Paul heard the door opening and mentally steeled himself for a confrontation. He took Dr Adler's shape and went to meet the intruders. ![]() |

Paul was really frightened now; he'd only agreed to help Apocalypse cuz the alternative was being put thru the machine. He immediately shifted to his regular shape.
"Alright, I'll talk!" he gasped out. "There is no cure; it was all just a trick to get mutants to come here, so that Apocalypse could make them his slaves." Jean frowned. "So," she said, "You did make Dr Adler up?" "He was real, alright," Paul said, trembling. "Til he met Apocalypse." ![]() |
