It was nearly an hour before Rogue's turn came round. She stood up and went into Dr Adler's office.

Paul sized Rogue up immediately, thinking she might do for War.

Gambit had entered the clinic by now, he watched Rogue enter Dr Adler's office and clenched his teeth. What was tha' girl thinkin? He pushed his way towards the door.

[Miranda_]

Paul was getting tired; he glanced at his watch. It was nearly time to close the clinic for the day; he'd just finish this assessment then make the announcement over the tannoy.

Gambit meanwhile was about several inches from barging into the assessment room and givin' both Rogue and tha' Doctor a good thumping. However he waited by the door for Rogue to come out. He could always give tha' Doctor a thumping later.

Eventually, Rogue's assessment was finished. Paul told her that he would be closing the clinic now, and would announce the winners of the cure one per day of the remaining four days. He also announced this on the tannoy, and the mutants reluctantly left.

Rogue walked out the door, thinking. She desperately hoped she'd be one of the lucky winners.

She was blocked by a coat clad across the doorway. "Fancy seeing you here," Gambit said grimly.

[Miranda_]

"Why shouldn't I be here?" Rogue asked Gambit defensively. "It's a free country."

[Cheshire1996]

"I thought yer were one of those X-Men, do they know tha' yer here?" Gambit pushed.

[Miranda_]

"No, and I'm not going to tell them, as it's none of their business, and none of yours, either," Rogue said defiantly.

[Cheshire1996]

"I was jus' thinking' ol' Remy here might get you to reconsider..." Gambit said, lowering his arm.
