Hart pounding, Pyotr reached into the bag and pulled out his miniature dragon; the Chinese Fireball, number 2. He gasped and stared at the replica, shocked and terrified.

Dragons? he thought. We have to face DRAGONS for the first task?

Draven was next; he pulled out the Swedish Short Snout dragon, with the number 1 around its neck. Tho he'd been expecting it, due to having known beforehand, the fact that he'd be going first was a bit of a shock.

"Oh, goodie," Collette exclaimed, helping herself to the final dragon, the common Welsh Green. "He's so cute," she exclaimed with delight, all Collette's nerves appeared to vanish as she held her miniature dragon in cupped hands, examining it from all angles.

Pyotr gaped at Collette as if she were absolutely bonkers. XD

"Look, look, look," Collette squealed. "He's so adorably, astonishingly, amazingly cute."

"Collette, that's just a miniature," Pyotr said, his nerves making his Russian accent stronger than ever. "The real thing is much, much bigger and much, much more dangerous and angry."

"Aha," Collette said, looking a little more nervous despite her best efforts to maintain a smile. "Do you think I can keep the miniature?"

"I don't know, ask the Headmasters," Pyotr said.

"Angry," Collette repeated quietly, "and dangerous." She peered at the miniature in disbelief.

"Looks like you got the easiest of the tree, though... or, rather, the least angry. Draven's are a temperamental lot, think they're called, uh... short snouts, but they're slow on the ground. The kind I got are Chinese, and they're supposed to be the smartest dragons, or is it the second smartest...? What I wouldn't give for a book right now!" Pyotr groaned, frustrated with himself for not remembering every tiny detail. He prided himself on his nearly-photographic memory, but it seemed to be failing him when he needed it most.
