"Draven, yeah, that makes sense," Michelle said. "He's very clever; if it weren't for his family connection, he would have been in Ravenclaw, I'm sure of it."

"Yeah, he's smart, and so are you, so it came down to who I saw first... and that was him. Slyths and Puffs have Care of Magical Creatures together," Wendy said.

[Miranda_]

"I've got that after Charms, with the Gryffindors," Michelle said. "Can't wait; last lesson, Professor Kettleburn said he was going to show us some new creatures."

The lesson had started; the class were to practice summoning charms. This meant that Wendy and Michelle could safely continue their chat as long as they summoned objects to them occasionally. As she spoke, Michelle waved her wand, saying, "Accio!" and one of the cushions which they were practicing with leapt off the shelf and flew into the box on the floor.

"Ooh That was a fantastic lesson! I won't spoil it for you, though," Wendy said. She scowled at another cushion. "Accio!" it wobbled its way awkwardly over to where she wanted it to. "How come yours comes right over so neatly and mine just sort of... well, wobbles like a drunk man's carrying it?"

"It's cuz of the way you wave your wand; your hand sort of shakes when you wave your wand, so the cushion wobbles. Here, let me show you."

Michelle gracefully waved her wand and said, "Accio!" Another cushion joined the first one in the box.

Wendy carefully watched Michelle, then copied her exactly as if acting out a role, even imitating Michelle's voice. "Accio!" The cushion flew over perfectly. "Now to do that without pretending to be you..." Wendy murmured.

Michelle giggled. "Is that how you do most things?" she asked.

Wendy nodded. "Uh huh. I'm good at imitating pople; I can pick up their speech patterns, movements, even, to a certain extent, their personality... and I know it's just me, not all metas, because mum can't do that. In fact, she doesn't let me change my hair and stuff at home like I do here, says that we shouldn't abuse our abilities like that," she said.

"Depends how you use them, I suppose," Michelle said. "You're not using them to rob or hurt people, after all."

"Or to cheat on tests," Wendy said. "Though, seriously, I'm tempted," she added.
