"I'll explain a lotta this when we're away from the cabby," Wendy whispered to Draven.

[Miranda_]

"Alright," Draven whispered back. He could see it wouldn't be wise to admit his ignorance in front of a witness.

Finally, they came to a large shopping centre, and the cabby stopped his car.

[Miranda_]

Draven guessed that they had to pay the cabby for the ride to the mall, but didn't know which piece of paper to hand over.

Wendy pointed and whispered which ones, then let Draven hand it to the man.

[Miranda_]

Draven paid the cabby, and thankfully watched the cab speed away to instantly merge with the traffic.

"Those cars are powered by gasoline, a nasty-smelling liquid made from... I forget if it's extinct plants or animals, but let's just say long-dead things," Wendy told Draven. "We generate a source of electricity, let's say it's similar to lightning, but tamed... we use that for, like everything. It makes those stoplights go between colors.

"Red means the cars have to stop to let the other cars adjacent to them go, while green is your turn to go. Yellow is a warning that the light will change soon."

"I think I prefer magic, by far," Draven replied, wrinkling his nose in disgust at the stench of the traffic fumes. A few people who were walking by looked curiously at the boy wearing the strange robes.

"Er, let's get you off the streets and inside," Wendy said, noting the looks.

[Miranda_]

"Gladly," Draven muttered, glaring at the people staring at him. "Muggles can be so rude."
