"time to go?" Wendy asked.

[Miranda_]

"Yeah, it's time to go meet Mum outside the Magical Menagerie," Michelle replied.

"Right, let's go," Wendy said with a grin.

[Miranda_]

The Magical Menagerie was just up the street. It was a pet store where all sorts of magical creatures were sold. Daphne Harvey worked there five days a week.

Wendy was excited to meet Michelle's mother, whom she'd never seen before. For a moment, though, she was hesitant to bring her luggage in, knowing seeing his wife but not being able to do anything would hurt Ty.

[Miranda_]

Michelle solved that problem by putting a sleeping spell on her father. She felt that this would be far less hurtful than the alternative.

Daphne hugged her daughter as soon as she saw her.

"Mum," Michelle said, "This is my friend Wendy. I said that we could let her have some Floo powder to get home, cuz otherwise she'll have to travel alone."

"That's fine," Daphne replied. "We've got plenty."

"Oh, thank you so much, ma'am!" Wendy beamed.

[Miranda_]

Daphne smiled. "You can call me Daphne, if you like, Wendy," she said. "I was never really one for formalities. Now, let's go."

Daphne led the way back to the Leaky Cauldron, where the fireplace that she habitally used was. There were other fireplaces all dotted around Diagon Alley, of course; it was just personal preference which one a person used.

"Okay," Wendy said, following Michelle and her mother.

Once they were in front of the fireplace, Daphne held out the jar of Floo powder to Wendy.

"You know how to use Floo, I suppose?" she asked.
