"Well, that's probably why you're in the house you're in," Draven replied.

"If you were ambitious, you'd be in Slytherin rather than in Hufflepuff."

"Hey, I have ambition, just in music, not in magic," Wendy huffed. "I mean, if had no ambition, would I want to be famous among both Muggles and wizardkind? No. Marketing to both is a great idea, and Muggles wouldn't think twice about certain things... I mean, it's cool nowadays to them. There's lots of magic-inspired imagery in lyrics for them, a sort of rebellion against 'traditional ideals'. I can use that to market to both sides, and rake in even more, and put that money -both kinds- to very good use."

"If you're allowed to, that is," Draven replied.

"You do know that the Ministry has certain rules regarding the arts, as in what can or can't be revealed? You'd have to be careful. For example, you could release a book if you made it look as tho it was pure fantasy fiction, but you couldn't release it if you wrote it as tho it were fact."

"I know," Wendy said. "It's all in how you write," she added. "Of course," she sighed, "They might not let me either way... but I'll try."

[Miranda_]

"You'd probably be alright if you submitted your songs to the Ministry to be checked over first," Draven commented.

"You'd only get in trouble if you just released them without the check. It might not earn you a sentence in Azkaban, but you'd most definitely get a fine."

Wendy shuddered at even the mention of Azkaban. "No dementors. Not now, not ever."

[Miranda_]

"A fine would be bad enough, of course, depending on how rich you are. For example, my parents would hardly even notice a fine of a bag of Galleons. But a poorer family would practically fall down in horror at the thought of having to pay out that much."

[spirit_queen]

"Yeah, you're right," Wendy sighed. "Well, I'll start working my way up among wizarding bends, then we'll see what I can do from there."

[Miranda_]

"Much safer that way," Draven replied.

"I somehow don't think you have any spare Galleons lying around to pay fines. Of course, my parents have had to pay a couple of fines cuz of Grandma attacking Muggles, but that hasn't happened for years, not since my parents took steps to prevent it."
