"That's not fair at all," Wendy pouted. "What if a halfblood actually wanted to study over holiday, but could only do things by reading theory? Someone like you automatically gets the upper hand, 'cause you can actually do the spells."

[Miranda_]

"No, cuz the Hogwarts teachers never set homework that requires practical work," Draven replied.

"I'd be perfectly happy to spend the summer never doing any practical magic, so it's not exactly an advantage. For example, last summer it took me ages to get the Patronus spell perfect; I spent hours just making silver vapour, and I was exhausted all the time cuz of that."

"Well, yeah," Wendy said.

[Miranda_]

"I went out sometimes, to walk round the garden," Draven said.

"I don't fly. I'm not very good on broomsticks. When I'm old enough, I'll take my apparation test."

[spirit_queen]

"I tend to crash into things," Wendy blushed.

[Miranda_]

"Dulce is good at flying," Draven said. "She has a Silver Arrow broom. That's why she's on the Slytherin Quidditch team, and I'm not."

He half smiled.

"Oooh, how fun!" Wendy said. "I'll pay closer attention from now on."

[Miranda_]

"There'll be the House Quidditch matches as normal next year."

[spirit_queen]

"Yup. Any idea what classes you want for next year?" Wendy asked. By now, she was walking backward as she chatted to hr slightly surly friend and crush, her currently silver hair swishing softly while she did love the big hair a lot of the muggles were beginning to sport, she didn't always feel the need to go for it. After all, what's the point in metallic hair if the big curls dull down the shine?

"I'll keep on with the classes I've got now, I think, for NEWTs," Draven replied.

"Tho in theory it depends on my OWLs results. The classes tend only to take students who have at least gained an A."

Draven was under no doubt that he would be up to standard.
