"Well, we should root for our home school," Wendy said.

[Miranda_]

"Definitely. Tho a lot of the Gryffindors still need convincing of that fact, it seems."

"It's sort of stupid, really. I also hate how a lot of teachers not only notice these silly rivalries, but encourage them, as well. I mean is it such a bad thing to have friends from other Houses? They make it hard for us to see each other sometimes, so the Houses are sort of secluded amongst themselves. When all your friends are only in your House and you rarely meet people in other Houses outside of classes, then you feel like you don't need them. And then the rivalry just keeps going."

[Miranda_]

"Don't you think you're blowing the whole issue out of proportion?" Michelle asked.

"There's only rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and that's cuz of the rivalry between the founders of their houses. I haven't ever seen a teacher try and discourage friendship between the houses, personally. In any case, my parents were from different houses and got together despite that. Eventually, everyone came to accept it."

"Yeah, your- I mean, I heard the story about how they met," Wendy corrected, grinning. "It was the cutest story I ever heard!"

[Miranda_]

"And of course my mother's housemates came round to the idea of her dating a Slytherin eventually," Michelle said.

"Once they could see how much in love they were with each other."

"It's movie-worthy," Wendy giggled, not bothering to think over whether Michelle would know what those were or not.

[Miranda_]

Michelle did, cuz her muggle born mother had told her about them.

"So basically, the house rivalry is one of the reasons why the Gryffindors are uptight about Draven being the Hogwarts Champion," she went on. "The other reason is cuz they just don't really like him much. Some of that's probably jealousy."

"Well, he can come across as antisocial... and, well, he sorta is. But he's not a bad guy at all, just quiet. He just prefers his own company to being with people all the time," Wendy said.

[Miranda_]

"Whereas a lot of the Gryffindors are very social people and probably just don't understand."
