Draven jumped violently; as he did so, the egg, still open and screeching unmusically, leapt from his open hands and landed in the lake. With an icy glare at Wendy, Draven lay down along the bank and reached into the water to retrieve the egg. The water was cold, and he couldn't quite get his hand underneath the egg; only just touching it with his fingers. Draven had to put the side of his head under the surface in order to reach it.
His eyes opened wide, as he heard unearthly singing coming from inside the egg. He almost forgot to pick it up but remembered in time; as he brought the egg to the surface, the singing changed to screeching again. Draven shut the egg, and looked thoughtfully at Wendy. "Thanks for that," he said. "Annoying, but effective."
