Shadowstar replied, "Yes. We should do that right away; everyone is hungry."

Dusty said, "I'll take you to the nearest hunting place. It's a dump a little ways away; there's rats and mice who live nearby."

Stonetail asked Shadowsytar if she'd prefer if he helped with the hunting or stayed behind.

"You come along too," Shadowstar replied. "The more good hunters, the better." Shadowstar naturally felt that Shadowclan were the best hunters.

Willowstar naturally felt that it was her duty to partake on the first hunt.

Once everyone was ready, Dusty led the cats to the dump. It was where food waste was left til it could be collected by the rubbish cart, and was populated with rats and mice.

Willowstar was a little put off by the smell. "This two-leg waste is worse than I expected," she said.

[Miranda_]

"Just try to ignore it and concentrate on the prey," Dusty advised. "The rats and mice here, there's so many, it's almost impossible to not catch them. You stay here; I'll go and flush them out and you can catch them."

"Right," Willowstar nodded, becoming more alert.

[Miranda_]

Shadowstar waited, flexing her claws in readiness. Soon a group of rats came running blindly towards them, concentrating on escaping from Dusty, who was chasing them.

Stonetail waited for the right moment, then. with a swiftness belied by his large body, tore down several large rats.
