"He's the sort that prepared for the apocalypse for years and year. Y'know the type." He looked around the residential district, feeling slightly unnerved by the lack of zombies. "Jeez, somebody cleared this place out."

"What, the apocalypse nuts or zombies?" He was joking and trying to lighten the mood at least a little. When they made it to the door, he checked the list of names before buzzing the one of the survivalist. "Hey, can you let us up? It's Arik from the floor below, I've got a college student with me. We need some help."

Ryan decided to get on with his new mission. The residential area shouldn't be too far away, he good run pretty quickly if he needed too and he was armed, slightly armed at least.
"I'm going to run for it," he told the camera, in case Carmen was actually interested and then prepared to open the door. ![]() |

Ooc: Sorry for disappearing on you lot! O= Was totally not my fault, honest.
Cyril edged nervously into the kitchen, gun raised. When he saw Jem, he lowered it and grinned. "You're the third person I've seen in ages who hasn't had bits falling off him" he stated cheerily. “I mean a weapon you hold. You have a gun, Tanith has a sword... I want a stick.” ~ Valkyrie Cain

"Running is not the best idea." The voice was much louder, though it wasn't Carmen; it was the AI program. "The subjects can hear you from blocks away if you run. It is not wise to run. Walking swiftly works just as well."
------- Carmen walked through the observatory, flinching away when the Witch flung itself at the glass as she passed, and she stopped in front of one particular cell. It was the best project they had, and she was scared to death that it might get out before it was ready. It had been programmed differently to most of its kind; instead of attacking, it would protect. NEMESIS II wouldn't fail, as long as it stayed in its tube until the gestational conditioning was finished. It would be controlled by the Green Queen AI program when it was finally done. It looked extraordinarily human compared to its predecessor; while it was genderless like the first NEMESIS, it closely resembled a Valkyrie. The muscles twitched under the pale skin every now and then, and behind the eyelids, the eyes moved constantly. It made her wonder if the creations they had made could dream. It was an idea that bothered her. She opened the seamless door on the cell with NEMESIS II in it and walked over to the tube in the center of the cell, checking the computer that rated the condition of the beast. It was complete. She took a deep breath and stepped back after pressing the release button. The fluid inside the tube drained out onto the floor as the bottom of the tube began to unseal, and the glass was lifted on hydraulic pistons. NEMESIS II fell to the floor on hands and knees, stayed there for a moment, then leaned back and sat down on the floor, eyes closed. "It's time to go to work." Carmen spoke clearly and slowly. The creature lifted its head at the sound of her voice, but the eyes didn't open. "It's time to help." It pushed itself to its feet, never touching its knees to support itself. "It's time to wake up." The eyes opened; they were a startling bright yellow, but they were certainly more human than the all-white eye of NEMESIS. "Get dressed and meet me in my office, N-2." She turned on her heel and walked out of the cell. N-2 stayed in its cell for a moment, considered the mental blueprint that had been conditioned into its brain, before exiting it as well; its 8-foot body frame was far too large for the door, however, and when it walked into the wall around it, the Plexiglas cracked in several directions. Its human-like face frowned in confusion, before it crouched down and eased itself through. The cracks made their way through the surface of the cell wall... ... and one particular crack made its way into the cell wall of the Tank. It paid it no mind, more interested in roaring at the Charger in the cell next to it. I KNOW THE PIECES FIT, CAUSE I WATCHED THEM FALL AWAY, MILDEWED AND SMOLDERING.

Ooc: I shall just enter Amella without the form, as I'm too scatterbrained right now to be able to clearly define her personality in one.
Amella was back in the control room, going through a bunch of papers and hurling any she deemed worthless over one of her shoulders as she went- it all depended on hand that got there first. Her raven black hair was held back in a tight ponytail, as usual, apart from a few short bits near the front, and her green eyes were set as grimly as her hard mouth. The 22-year old was muttering something to herself to the effect of "Why oh Why oh WHY did some bloody tarts just HAVE to go and blow open the side of the building and release a cocktail of volatile viruses? WHY?!" and occasionally thwacking herself in the face out of frustration, sending the small set of glasses perched on her nose askew. This was because she hadn't slept since well before the beginning of the outbreak, and was pumping herself with Caffeine to stay awake. When this little mess is cleaned up, she told herself, I'm gonna sleep for a week. And decapitate anyone stupid enough to wake me up. “I mean a weapon you hold. You have a gun, Tanith has a sword... Carmen strode into the control room and sat down at her desk to continue viewing the cameras. "Amella, go take a nap or something. You're making me nervous and you're probably going to make N-2 anxious."
