The Gods of Suburbia {RP}

From out in the corridor Hathor sneezed violetly several times. She was struggling to keep up with the information that the others understood realtively quickly and easilly. All she knew so far was that she was human, she was in he future and she was sharing a room with Bastet. However her spirits had improved greatly as she discovered that her ankle wasn't as bad as it had appeared to be.

[Miranda_]

"I'll try," Set said. He heard the sneezing outside the living room, and wondered who was there listening in on their conversation. Didn't all the deities know all this already, anyway?

"Just don't expect anything else. I can't be with a woman in that way; it just makes me feel ill to think of it."

[spirit_queen]

"Well, I know that, Set; I won't expect you to want me, just to stop ignoring me; I'm a woman, not a monster. I won't eat you alive, or something." Neph said. she dind't care who overheard; everyone knew the status of their relationship, and how she kept triyng to patch it up in some way. So whoever it was probably just assumed that this was yet another attempt.

"Though, maybe tomorrow we could get Thoth to record an official divorce, so at least the next boyfirend you pick up you can be slightly more open about having around." She paused. "But, I have to say, if you bring another ar.sehole like Ash around, I'm kicking him out, got it? That idiot saw treated you no better than-" she paused a moment and used a spell to detect who was around. Since it was only Hathor, who was very peaceful and usually respectful, and not Isis, Osiris, or Horus, she continued, "-Horus did, and he was at war with you, for f*ck's sake."

[Miranda_]

Set flushed at that. He generally didn't bring up the whole incident with Horus; for one thing, he was used to no-one believing his side of the story, so he rarely bothered any more. Set was still hurting over the incident, as well as being tagged as a rapist, but he hid it well.

But Neph obviously knew for she had a knack of finding these things out. O.o "Don't look so down about it, Set." Neph said. "I know what really happened, and there might be a few other non-family members who are at least suspicious, given how Horus acts."

[Miranda_]

"I doubt it. Everyone always thinks the worst of me, and they'd hardly want to go against Isis and Osiris."

[spirit_queen]

"Well yewah, no one would go against them, but I doubt everyone believes them all the time, even if they odn't like you much." Neph said, then sighed. "Well, except me, and that scared you; if it hadn't hurt so much, I suppose I would have found it amusing."

[Miranda_]

"It would have been a lot easier if you'd just left earlier. You might have even have found someone else, someone better for you than me."

[spirit_queen]

"But I couldn't Set." neph said with a sigh. "For some dumb reason or another, I fell in love with you, and I'd rather be with you and be ignored than spit away from you and find someone else." She rested her head on her hands. "But that's not really fair to you, even though it doens't stop you from getting boyfiriends, so I'm letting you go. I'll take friendship ad be happy with that."

[Miranda_]

"I didn't realise that it was as bad as all that. I don't even know what Isis told you; she said to me that she didn't want you to be alone, and it made perfect sense for me to marry you. I tried to tell Isis that I didn't want to get married, but in the end, it was just easier to go along with it."

Set paused, then said, "We might want to think up an edited version to tell people here. I think someone said it was in the future; maybe they think about things differently now."
