"I guess it does," Dolph replied.

Rose could feel herself grinning, and it wasn't sarcastic or teasing like usual. No, this grin consisted of nothing but pure joy.

Dolph was silent for a moment, then he said, "Can I tell you a secret? If I tell you, you have to promise on your life to not tell anyone else."

"I promise I won't tell anyone; that's not my style." Rose said earnestly.

[Miranda_]

"You might not believe me, either; but I can prove it to you. Just promise me that you won't freak out and you won't get scared. There's nothing to be afraid of."

"Dolph, I'm not some preppy girl who cries when she breaks a nail or screams when she sees a spider." Rose said. "What are you hiding that you think would scare me?" she wasn't mocking at all when she said this, merely curious.

"This." Dolph had long ago decided that if he ever loved a human girl enough to tell her his secret, that he'd use show rather than tell. After all, she might think that he was mocking her if he told her he was a werewolf.

Dolph changed shape there and then, taking the shape of the white wolf that was his normal shape.

Rose's eyes widened and she fell to her knees, stunned and more than a little nervouse. Her brain was suddenly overloaded with information, and she was having trouble processing it. Slowly, cautiously, she reached out a hand to place on one of Dolph's front legs, as that was all she could reach.

She found his fur to be somewhat coarse, but not unpleasant to the touch.
