Dolph laughed, but deep down he could feel himself falling for Rose. He was in turmoil; for them to be together, he'd have no choice but to change her so that she'd be safe.

Clarissa shrugged. "Fair enough." She blinked up at him. "How long have you been here?"

"A couple of years," Flynn replied. "It's far too early to think about moving on." Vampires generally couldn't stay in one place for tio long; humans generally would notice that they never aged.

"Maybe," said Dolph. "If you get lucky."

"Luck? I got plenty of that." Rose said. She smiled and leaned toward Dolph, her dark eyes smoldering.

"Maybe we should go someplace private for this."

Rose chuckled. "I agree; you lead."

Dolph led Rose out of the pub, and away from the town into the nearby woods. This was where he'd played as a youngster, and where his parents had taught him how to hunt. There were deer in the forest, as well as rabbits and other small prey. He took Rose to a small clearing, and sat down on the fallen leaves.

"This place is nice. It's very quiet." Rose said. she sat down beside him on the pile of leaves.

[Miranda_]

"Yeah; especially at this time of day," Dolph said. "Everything's resting."

"It's peaceful." Rose said. she smiled at him. "Is this your secret spot, then?"

[Miranda_]

"That's right," Dolph said. "No-one knows about this place. Not even that crazy ex of mine; I never showed her this place."
