Back at camp, Phelan organised the sharing out of the food.

Todd came up to take what he considered to be his fair share. Other people might have another interpretation, tho. Todd was currently being taught how to forage and he resented it very much. As far as he was concerned, he'd been looked after all his life and he didn't see why it shouldn't continue.

Corey ran into Todd by accident. "Oh! Sorry!"

This was about the most unfortunate thing that Corey could have done; Todd reacted the way he always did with any slight, imagined or real. He bit Corey, hard, on the forearm.

"Owwww!" Corey jerked away from Todd; he hadn't expected to be bitten for simply bumping into someone.

[Miranda_]

Todd growled. "Don't think that just cuz you're bigger than me, you can push me around," he said.

Todd, being a small white fox, was the archetypal lap dog type pet; small and snappy and definitely not to be underestimated.

"It was an accident!" Corey said, tightly clasping his wound with his free hand.

"Didn't look that way from where I'm standing. Now get out the way; I'm starving and I want my dinner."

Corey was too astonished to say anything or even move; he just gaped at Todd.

Todd arrogantly walked past Corey and took his share of the food back to the tent assigned to him.

Corey just gaped some more, and Rika found him that way. She made him come back to her tent to be fixed up.
