"You exist. That's enough for me." Mace gave Tails a shove.

[spirit_queen]

Tails stumbled. "Hey, that's not funny."

[Miranda_]

"Not meant to be. Thought a brainiac like you would be able to understand something like that."

[spirit_queen]

"Don't call me a brainiac." Tails said.

[Miranda_]

"Why not?" Mace said, sneering. "It's the truth. You're a brainiac loser and you think you're better than anyone else, just cuz you went to high school."

[spirit_queen]

"And why do you think that I tihnk I'm better than everyone?" Tails said.

[Miranda_]

Mace wasn't interested in talking this out; he just wanted to take his anger out on someone, and Tails was an easy target.

"Shut up, before I pound your face in," he said, shoving Tails again. "And don't even think of running away, cuz I'm on the football team and I'll catch you in five seconds."

Tails huffed. "Well, I hope you know that I know your brother, and that if beating me up and picking on me interferes with helping your brother with his homework, he'll pound your face in."

[Miranda_]

"I don't care what you think, cuz he's not my brother any more, cuz he ran away and left me behind," said Mace, after a moment or two of silence. "And that would make you a telltale, and everyone hates them. So it won't just be me beating you up."

"I don't care; eventually I'll make something I can protect myself with, and you'll be sorry." Tails said.
