Silver picked up the phone at once. As soon as he knew it was Blaze, he asked her if she'd seen the news.

"Has to be," Silver replied. "Don't know what we can do about it, tho."

It being a teacher training day, there was no school. Shadow was hanging out alone in the park, smoking and reading a book. He often did this, as he liked his own company.

This park was poplar for families, so it was likely no surprise when a red minivan with tinted windows pulled up into the parking lot nearest Shadow, going inbetween two other cars; an SUV and another minivan in blue.

Shadow ignored the minivan, not even looking up from his book. The families likewise gave him a wide berth.

Inside, Amella Sands looked at shadow through a pair of binoculars.

"That's him."

"You sure?" replied a deep voice. Daniel Reeves was a large man, capable of taking down almost anyone.

Amella examined the file on her lap, which had several recent photographs of Shadow paperclipped to it. "I am. This says he's fifty, but he looks like my kid cousin. What the hell."
