"That must have given the teacher a heart attack with the shock," said Manic, laughing. He leaned over to talk to Rouge. "Did you hear that? Knuckles didn't create any explosions in his science class today."

Knuckles replied to Rouge, "Ask him. He wants to be one of the cool kids; would be an idea to perhaps let him think he can be one of us, in exchange for doing our homework."

Silver looked very taken aback to see Mel wave at him. He was generally left severely alone by the other kids; mainly cuz he always looked depressed and miserable, and like he wanted to be left alone, if only he knew.

"Yeah, it's certainly surprising. I almost can't believe that. And we could just use him, I wouldn't have to do practically any work then." Rouge said, giggling. She asked them both, "Have your teachers been enforcing the new rules from that stupid announcement? I was surprised my math teacher hadn't, actually."

Mel frowned, a little annoyed that Silver hadn't waved back, but she still tried to contact him. He was interesting and didn't seem to have many friends, perhaps she could be one of them..?

"None whatsoever," said Manic. "Guess they don't agree, or just can't be bothered."

This time, Silver shyly waved back to Mel. He feared that he was being taken for a ride; his hopes for another friend to be raised then cruelly dashed, which was why he was acting with caution.

"That's good then. Of course, I just better hope I don't run into Dr. Robotnik. He must have a stick up his ass. He's just upset because he's ugly no matter what he wears." Rouge rolled her eyes, "I think I look fine, so I have no reason the change what I wear. What do you think Knuckles? I look okay, don't I?" she smiled sexily.

"You look great," Knuckles said, unable for the moment to take his eyes off Rouge.

Manic snickered. "Honestly, you guys; if you're going to hump each other's legs all lesson, then try to keep it to your own desks."

Mel smiled, happy that he had finally replied to her. "I'm not like that..." She looked around at most of the people, who seemed to ignore her. "Sorta an outcast, too, ya know?"

Silver nodded, knowing all to well what Mel meant.

"So am I," he said. "I've only got one friend, cuz everyone else either hates me or ignores me."

She thought about this. "Nah, you don't have one. You've got two," she smiled, pointing to herself. It was amazing, though; two outcasts had earned two friends in one day xD

Rouge playfully hit Manic, "Oh, shut it. Knuckles and I are just friends. I was simply asking him how I looked."
