"I expect Ashura got that idea after I was able to beat him so easily with my Chaos Control," Shadow said. "I think tho that we can assume that he still can't get thru the shield, or else he'd be here now."

"The shield scans the mind of those trying to come in, no matter how they come; those of ill-intent cant get through. The shield can still scan those capable of Chaos Control because it uses a for of Chaos Energy and can link to whoever is using Chaos Control to warp space to scan their mind. If they're of ill-intent, the shield simply, er... that is, to put it simply, the shield basically reroutes you to b just outside it while you're still in the middle of the, er, warp," Tails said.

[Miranda_]

"That's what I thought. So anyone on the island doesn't have to worry; and rest assured, I will keep my Emerald safe so that there's no chance of Ashura being able to go super," said Shadow.

"I've no doubt of that," Tails said. He peeked around Shadow and saw maria. "Is that...?"

Meanwhile, on the mainland, Mephiles had gone with Iblis to scour the wreckage Manic had made when they'd captured the rebels for anything of use. Mephiles was hoping Iblis wouldn't complain too much.

[Miranda_]

"Yes, my daughter was hatched," Shadow said, shortly. "I named her Maria."

Iblis wasn't very happy at being made to go to the rebel's former hideout with Mephiles, and miss several cartoons he'd wanted to watch. He complained about it once they arrived.

"Congratulations!" Tails said with a shy smile.

"Iblis, stop whining already; we set to record a few of your favorites, so you'll still get to see them," Mephiles growled to his other half ad Mephiles began rummaging.

[Miranda_]

"I don't even know what you're expecting to find in this pile of crap," Iblis said in a complaining tone of voice. "You're wasting your time, Mephy."

Mephiles paused over something, then dug it out of the debris. "Something like this, Iblis," he said.
