When they were back at the house, Cream yelled very loudly, "Hello everyone! We're back!"

"I don't like pet names. And just prop it closed or something; I didn't break it, it just came off like all the other doors did." Knuckles grumpily sat down on the bed.

Tails was now working on the front door. XD Poor kid.


Charlie, back at home, had been watchign the news when he saw the Knuckles incident. So those kids are hangin' out with a violent jewel thief?! I won't stand for that! He stood up and went to the front door.

"Dear, where are you going?" His wife called.

"I'm, ah, checking on something very important for work. I'll be back before dinner!" Charlie said. Then he left, heading for the rund-down house where the anthromorphs were staying.

Rouge propped the door closed, and then turned back to Knuckles, "I get it, you want to act all tough, and pet names don't exactly make you look tough at all, now do they?" She sat down on Knuckles' lap, "Why are you being such a Grumpy Guss, anyway? That's hardly any fun."

"I want my Emerald. And I'm not being grumpy." Knuckles in reality had no objection to this part of the deal; he just didn't want to admit it.

Cream was in the process of feeding Cheese the string beans from last night when there was a knock at the door. She opened it.

Charlie was standing there. XD "Hello, Cream."

Amy had given Sonic the hot water bottle, and went to the door. "Um, hi. Who are you, mister?" She crossed her arms.

Cream turned to Amy. "This is Charlie." She paused. "This is Amy."

Tails, who had been working on yet another door, came over. "Oh! Hello, Charlie."

"Hello, Tails." Charilies paused. "May I come in?"
