After swooping around several times (partly for show, partly to slow down some), the pegasi made a landing, their sheer white coats nearly glowing form their brilliance. Their landing was gentle enough that the passengers inside the carriage would hardly notice anything at all.

The Durmstrang ship sailed to the edge of the lake. A gangplank was raised, and Ivan led the students down it. They'd still sleep on the ship, but would have to bring anything they needed for the day into Hogwarts.

Dmitriy was buzzing with adrenaline, but forced himself to look and act calmly; he was not messing this up.
~ Headmistress Chantal stepped out of the carriage as gracefully as she could manage, like a ballerina on the stage; to her, this was all part of the act of making a dramatic entrance. The students were to follow behind. |

Jakyl put Felix in his robe pocket, leaving the cage in an out of the way area, and picked up his suitcase. It was more of a briefcase than anything else, glossy and black with his initials stamped on the corner in silver.

"Welcome to Hogwarts!" Dippet strode across the lawn to meet them. "I trust you all had a good trip here. Please, do come inside for breakfast." He bowed lightly to Headmistress Chantal.
