Sinopa was scrubbing one of the front windows of her bar; a bird had left an unpleasant gift. "Stupid birds, why can't they just go f**k themselves," she grumbled, spraying more window-wash on the mess. Once it was gone, she tossed the rag in the dumpster and headed back inside.
Far, far beyond the island, we dwelt in shades of twilight, through dread and weary days, through grief and endless pain. It lies unknown, the land of mine! Sinopa slid the glass down to him once she got his drink ready; she was trying to find batteries for the large CD player in the corner.

Kasa led the way to Sinopa's bar. "Not that we could ever do anything of course; if we arrested the thugs, they'd just end up being let off by the judge anyway, and sometimes paid compensation."
