Diego looked unconvinced. "That's you, tho. She still hates me. In any case, I still can't play without being able to hold the cards, and I can't be trusted enough for the guards to take the restraints off."

Meanwhile, Mina had 'abandoned' Diego because Amira had been called in to work on something. While Mina hadn't really been too concerned about the noises in the vent -any prisoner who was up there was most likely trying to avoid people, and a worker was harmless-, Amira was scared outta her mind.
The difference between Mina and Amira was dramatic, almost comical. I magine a tomboyish actor going onstage and playing a girly-girl, and you have the sudden switch in personality. The way she walked, gestured, and behaves was differwent. Amira spoke with a higher and softer tone of voice. Unfortunately, this made her an easy target, so Mina waited by to take over in case that happened.  |
