Nora opened the door and stepped inside.

This pawn shop was much different from the Chinese. It was more neat and a bit larger, with cleaner windows and a more open space. Virginia stepped toward the counter and beckoned toward Nora.

Nora followed. "Hello, we'd like to buy some, um, items," Nora said shyly; she wasn't really socially adequate.

The man at the counter nodded. "Anything specific?" Virginia pointed at a pair of jeans. "We'd like those." Then she pointed at another pair and two shirts. "And these please." The man at the counter brought back the items and counted up the total. "Four dollars and fifty cents."

"Just jeans? We should buy why more than that, it would be a waste of our time."

"I also bought two shirts," said Virginia, rather matter-of-fact. She handed the man the total and grabbed he clothes. "Let's hit the road."

"I liked it much more than the other one," Nora said once they were out of the shop.
