It was a bit of a ratty looking hotel lobby, though it was more due to old age and disuse than poor building condition. The carpet was torn up in random places, exposing tile flooring under it, and the service elevator was missing behind the service desk.
"... This is just weird." Tanith walked past Jeff to the reception desk in a corner, hitting the rusty bell; it didn't make a single noise, just squeaked meekly.
