Elizabeth was getting angry. "If nobody confesses to this crime I will have all of you scrubbing the floors like servents!" She yelled.

"Princess Elizabeth, I believe I saw Lady Beth come to your apartment before I came to clean" Anne fibbed, glaring at Lady Beth. She and Lady Beth were not good friends, in fact, they loathed each other.

Lady Beth looked up at her in shock. "I did not! I was with you the entire time! How do you know that Lady Anne did not place them there when she was cleaning!"
Elizabeth looked at them both. "One of you five need to come clean before you all do cleaning."

"How dare you accuse me of such a vulgar task! Look, m'lady, I have been your lady-in-waiting for 5 years. Do you really think I would do such a falsehood?" Anne replied, cooly.

Elizabeth nodded. "Lady Anne does have a point, Lady Beth. You have only been with me for a mere year. How do I know you can be trusted?"
"Well...I...I am always on time for social events and am always ready to stand by you." She stammered.

"Lady Beth, please go down to the servents quarters and they will give you a job to do." Elizabeth commanded.
"But m'lady!" Beth started to protest.
"Go before your punishment is worsened!" Elizabeth yelled.
Lady Beth hesistated before leaving, with a curtsy.
