Scarlett gave a stiff nod. "I tried not to look at them too long. If I could see them, there was a good chance they could have seen me. I just hid behind the bushes and stayed quiet. Luckily, they didn't seem to want to stay around for long."

"They seemed so dark and mysterious. Definitely much different than any of ours. Two were wolves and one was a vulture. They were trying to hunt me down. I can't remember much else. It was so sudden. I was just walking along, minding my own business, when Sage and I heard footsteps coming from all around us."
