"Hey, don't insult my friend. Got that?" Layna said, straightening up, "Because hitting on a girl and insulting her friends? That's just scuzzy."

"I think we'd have a better chance in a bear pit than to shove Matt off."

Luke sighed. "I'm not insulting her; she insulted me, tho. I'm just doing this all wrong, and I'd better just go." He turned to leave.

"Maybe pretend to put a lighted match under his precious Lord Of The Rings books? XD He'll get off in a flash to save them."

Layna shrugged. She wasn't that bothered about some guy she didn't know.

"Yeah," Nala snickered, "Can't you just see it? 'Noooo! Those are first editions! Np, not the special illustrated ones!'"

[Miranda_]

Luke was bothered tho; he had liked Layna a lot. He walked away from her towards the exit. He didn't particularly want to go back to his home just yet, despite the fact that his father was unlikely to still be there and probably had gone back to the office.

Cole snickered. "Yeah; he's obsessed. XD Glad I'm not a geek like that."

Nala laughed, "D@mn straight. I'd have to slap you silly."

[Miranda_]

"I'd slap myself if I ended up like that." Cole noticed Luke walking towards the door, but not who he'd been talking to. "He's finally worked out he's not welcome; took him long enough. Poor little rich boy."

"My heart bleeds for him." Nala said, rolling her eyes.

[Miranda_]

"Yeah, wish I had the luxury of being unhappy surrounded by cash. He spends way too much time down our end of Carcer."

"His mother probably sh@gged some guy down here, so he feels like he's obliged to spend time with us 'little people'."

[Miranda_]

"Probably. Doesn't matter what he says about his father, or the guy he thinks is his father; he doesn't give a d@mn. It's obvious."
