"Well, I can't say I blame you." he said, taking her hand and leading her safely through the streets. The odd little spell of airy-fairyness seemed to have faded away and he moved less lightly on his feet now, though still sure of himself. It was made better by him actually seeming to be paying attention this time and all in all it was a lot more bearable than before.

[Miranda_]

Nikki noticed the difference. "The last time a guy tried that, he got his fingers cut off. He won't be trying that again in a hurry."

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"You cut off my fingers and I'll make you eat them. Captain's word."

Kaine said this half-seriously, but not enough to get offended.

[Miranda_]

"I seriously doubt you'd be stupid enough to put your fingers where they're not wanted anyway, so the question won't come up."

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"Well, at least you credit me with some brains then."

[Miranda_]

"If you didn't have brains, you would have come to grief years ago." Eventually, they reached the inn.

Kaine didn't have any qualms about going into Nikki's room uninvited. Well, he wouldn't, seeing as how he thinks she's a guy.

All of Nikki's clothes were boy's clothes, in any case. She didn't own any makeup or anything that might look suspect. Nikki quickly packed up her things into her bag.

Kaine just wandered around, poking at things and looking behind the pictures. XD

Nikki had no pictures of her own, save one painting showing a ship in full sail that she'd bought at a port soon after she'd run away from home.
