"Oh? Was? I'm presuming you're no longer spending your time on that ship?" he played with a lock of hair twining it around his fingers.

[Miranda_]

"I felt I needed a change of scene; after all, I've been on that ship seven years, and that's long enough. The rest of the crew have disbanded; they think that the ship has bad luck. I don't believe that, but I don't feel as tho it's home any more." Nikki drank some of her ale thru the straw.

Kaine leaned forward a little, "And were you a good First Mate?"

[Silent_Wolf]

Kenshin stood up and went back inside the bar, walking over to the counter and giving the mug back to the barman. "Thanks for the drink, I'll pass on anymore though. One more and I might fall in the portwaters again." O_o

[Miranda_]

"As good as I could be," said Nikki. "For a while, after the last battle with the Skulls, I had to take the captain's place. He was badly hurt."

Kaine leant back, thinking about it for a second then said thoughtfully, "How would you like to work on my ship?"

[Miranda_]

"I would love to. As what position, tho?" she asked, almost afraid to tempt fate.

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"I'm sure you could work that out." Kaine said pleasantly.

[Silent_Wolf]

Kenshin was leaving the bar, but managed to trip up over someone's boot; he grunted when he landed on his face, but otherwise didn't react, not even bothering to get up.

[Miranda_]

"As first mate, hopefully," Nikki replied. "You'll have to show me your ship."
