"Be careful with it. It's my husband Caine's handwriting, and he couldn't form a letter worth a d*mn."

[Miranda_]

"No offence, but I can see that you're right about that," Nikki said, carefully using the microscope and writing down a translation on a separate sheet of paper.

"Hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened with your husband? Was it tragic? Is that why you turned Bane down?"

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"It was tragic, but it wasn't why I turned Bane down. Skulls attacked the island where we were living, probably because of the peacetalks. Caine tried to defend us, but they killed him, burnt down the house and dragged me away. Until now I actually thought Kaine and Kiana were dead." Lana said before adding, "I do miss him. He was a good man, a great one even. Kindest, most caring person I ever knew, and if Kaine is half as good to you as his father was to me then you'll be a very happy lady."

[Miranda_]

"I'm sorry to hear that," Nikki replied. "But if that wasn't the reason, then what was? Sorry if I sound nosy."

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"Because my children are more important to me and I want to spend time with them. I have a decade to catch up on and very little time to do it in. I;ll have time to catch pretty boys after, and believe me, I will."

[Miranda_]

"He really was upset after you turned him down, you know," Nikki said. "He wasn't just putting it on. Maybe if you told him you want to take things slowly? He went thru much the same thing that you did, after all."

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"I might not want to go out with him at all, you know. Much less take it slowly. I barely know him. I'll talk to him though, I don't like the idea of making someone upset unless they deserve it."

[Miranda_]

"That's pretty much what I meant. You can at least be friends."

[Sarah_K_O_M]

"I'll make time for it."

[Miranda_]

"At least he's working better now. He wasn't before, and we really can use someone of his strength on board ship."
