Alvin had to chuckle; that was an oddly bright outlook on having had polio.
Far, far beyond the island, we dwelt in shades of twilight, through dread and weary days, through grief and endless pain. It lies unknown, the land of mine! A hidden gate to save us from the shadow fall. The lord of water spoke in the silence words of wisdom. I've seen the end of all: Be aware, the storm gets closer. Av by Miranda_

The hatch came up slowly. It had been recently oiled, it was just quite heavy. Once it was open Destiny hopped in, clambering down the ladder.
"It's not down far." she called up. "Maybe a storey, even less. Here, I'll make a light." There was a small flicker of blue fire. If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. I'd type a little faster. -Isaac Asimov "I have not come this far to die now." - Nick, L4D2

"Is this a bomb shelter or something?" Alvin sighed; she hated ladders for obvious reasons. XD She climbed down the ladder too and reached the bottom after a short while.

"I don't know, but it is spooky. Smells like compost too." Destiny said.
There was only one way to go; down. So they did, Destiny leading the way since she had the light. After a while she called back to Alvin. "I can see a light up ahead. Looks like firelight." "Well, plants probably grew down here and died. I smell grass." Alvin lifted her head to look.

There was indeed firelight, visible through the open door at the end of the corridor. After a minute or so they reached where it was coming from.
It was a lavishly decorated room with dark red carpet and wooden panelled walls. A man was in there, presumably Christoher, sitting at a oak desk. He seemed to be doing paperwork. Destiny kicked and stepped in. "Um, hello?" "Come in." If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. "You're Christopher?" Alvin kept a hand on her sword's hilt.

"Introductions can wait until we are all comfortable." he said. He took a small tranquilliser gun out of his desk and shot them both.
*later* While Alvin and Destiny had been knocked out he had manacled them both to heavy wooden chairs by their ankles and wrists. The manacles were also suppression bracelets, keeping them both from struggling or using any powers. He waited for Alvin to wake up. Destiny wasn't likely to for a long time, since she had gotten a dosage for a much larger person. If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. Alvin woke up, and immediately tried to move; the manacles however sapped her energy a good bit. She glared at him when she saw him.
