Lucine was taking notes of the mutations others had in teh village.

It generally depended on the village as to how bad the mutations were. Drinking water from the polluted lakes could, if drunk at exactly the correct amount, kill off a baby in the womb; however, too much could kill both the baby and its mother and too little just cause mutations to the baby. Plus in some of the more remote villages, inbreeding went on which of course just magnified any mutations.

Which was exactly the reason for teh research.

After the wars, a lot of people just accepted their lots. However, the research was sorely needed, if only to make efforts to improve the place.

Lucine was sitting in what passed for the town hall, scribbling.

It was just a barn, pretty much. XD

Raziel was practicing throwing his knives at a homemade target, while Remy swam in the lake. It was safe to swim in; everyone knew better than to open their mouths while swimming.

Anastasia was also swimming in the lake, dreaming of the appearance of a clean one.

Lucine left the town hall, checking out the surrounding landscape.

Remy doubted that any more damage could be done to his already mutated genes; however, he didn't want to take that risk.
