Michelle was crying in the girls' toilets nearest to the Ravenclaw common room. There had been no sightings of her father on the mainland, and she feared that meant he was dead. She had no way of knowing what had happened to him.

Iris went to look for her. Once she had, she went into the next cubicle, climbed up onto the watertank part of the toilet (what is that called?) and dropped a wad of clean tissues onto Michelle's head.
