Kasa had finished redoing her makeup after crying a little, and was now staring at her magazine without really seeing it.

He stood at the edge of the bench akwardly, "Sorry."

Kasa looked up. "You're saying sorry? Seriously?" She suspected a joke or wind up.

"Yes, seriously."

"OK. I accept your apology." She patted the space next to her on the bench. "You can sit down if you like."

Kasa sighed. "Three years ago, my cousin committed suicide. She didn't leave a note, or anything. That's why I don't like it when people talk about it so casually; anyway, it'll be alright for them if they do, cuz they'll be dead, but what about the people who have to deal with it?"
