Kasa slapped his face. She then turned and walked away from him. Kasa had good reason for feeling as she did; her cousin had committed suicide, not even leaving a note.

Aldo just shrugged and sneaked off.

The class was once again being herded round the building.

They were being shown around the house.

Mandi didn't go inside. She sat outside in a secluded area. She didn't want to be seen.

Kasa was sitting outside too. She was upset, and the teacher had let her go outside to sit down and calm down.

Mandi looked over to Kasa, then back down. She finally knew what it felt like to wish she was better looking and to fear being made fun of by people who were prettier. She was worried that if she said anything to Kasa, she'd get laughed at in return - even if she had been there to find out first, So, Mandi just hid her face from Kasa's view.
